To those who did not read newspaper at all.. This is what happening at Yangon...

Myanmar's military rulers yesterday rejected growing international pressure to accept aid workers, insisting that they could handle the emergency cyclone relief effort alone.

UN Secretary General Ban K Moon has expressed "immense frustration" at Myanmar's "unaccpetably slow"response. US President George W Bush on Monday denounced Myanmar's military rulers as "isolated or callous" over their response to Cyclone Nargis and said "the world ought to be angry and condemn" them.

Meanwhile, allegations have surfaced that the junta is hoarding higer quality foreign aid for itself and doling out rotten food instead.

Myanmar volunteers have said that they are having to hide from local apparatchiks in order to prevent them commandeering their aid and selling it on at markets.

Every 10 sacks rices, onli 4 will reach the people. The other six will end up being sold by official on a market in some local town.

Quantities of high energy biscuits rused into myanmar on the World Food programme's first flights were sent to a military warehouse.

THey were exchanged for what the the official said were "tasteless and low quality" biscuits produced by the Industry Ministry to be handed out to cyclone victims.

Thailand's premier will also travel to Myanmar today to press the junta to allow foreign aid workers who are struggling to get visas, to enter the country.


Thousands of people are suffering without basic nesseciaties such as food, water and shelter. Thousands of corpses lying every where. Water being polluted and shelter were also destroyed due to the cyclone. People are struggling to live despite hunger and dehydration. Yet, Myanmar Junta insisted that they are able to do it themselves and do not allow foreign aid to enter. What the hell is he thinking? Doesn't he know that if nothing is done to the victims, more deaths will be caused and there will be outbreak of diseases that cause even more deaths? What the hell is that junta thinking about? Doesn't he care about those victims? Worst still, officials are hiding and selling those relief aid for their own benefits instead of giving them to the victims. Giving them rotten food when these victims are already suffering.. Don't these officials feel guilty? Don't they know that they will get retributions? People from all over Asia are doing what they can to help those Victim in Yangon and this is what we get in return. So what are we suppose to do? Continue to help them?
